About the Role Redhorse is transforming how the Department of Defense (DoD) utilizes data and technology. We are seeking a Data Governance Lead to support the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). In this role, you will be responsible for establishing a formal and executable, enterprise-wide Acquisition Data Governance Framework and execute and evolve the framework, as required. This framework will be codified by a cross-functional charter, a fully operational data governance council, and published data governance artifacts for the acquisition data sub- domains. The primary goal is to transform data from an unreliable byproduct into a governable, trusted, and discoverable strategic asset.
Key Responsibilities- Direct an enterprise-wide Data Governance program, aligning data policies, standards, and controls with both business and regulatory requirements.
- Establish the Data Governance Council (DGC) and Data Management Working Group (DMWG), fostering executive-level collaboration and accountability across business units.
- Design and execute the start of a multi-year Data Governance roadmap, establishing the Data Stewardship Program.
- Implemented a data stewardship framework to ensure accountability for critical data domains, and created comprehensive data management policies, procedures, and standards.
Required Experience/Clearance- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Technology, Engineering, or related discipline).
- 7+ years of experience in delivery, data governance, or technical implementation roles, with experience facilitating cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex, data-driven or technology products, preferably within government or defense environments.
- Strong understanding of data visualization
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience briefing senior leaders.
- Experience working in agile environments.
- Secret clearance required to start.
