Job Title: Data & Cloud Solutions Architect
Location: San Jose, CA
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite - 5 days/week
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Data & Cloud Solutions Architect to design and implement enterprise-scale cloud data architectures supporting data integration, analytics, AI, reporting, data lakes, and data warehouses.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience with Azure data architecture, Databricks, Spark, data modeling, data integration, metadata, data governance, and enterprise solution architecture. This role also requires customer-facing consulting, architecture roadmap development, solution design, technical estimation, and support for RFPs and sales engagements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science - Strict Requirement
- 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Enterprise Analytics
- 3+ years of Cloud Data Architecture experience
- Strong Azure Data Architecture experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- Azure Data Lake / ADLS
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Synapse
- Azure Databricks
- Apache Spark
- Strong experience in data integration, ETL/ELT, data lakes, data warehouses, and high-volume data pipelines
- Strong data modeling, schema design, metadata management, data governance, data quality, and data lineage experience
- Strong SQL and programming experience with Python and/or Java
- Experience with cloud architecture and Big Data platforms; AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Hadoop experience is a plus
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, D3.js, or similar data visualization tools
- Experience with data security, compliance, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
- Strong architecture documentation and diagramming skills using Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, or similar
- Experience with technical consulting, customer engagement, solution roadmaps, RFPs, technical proposals, estimates, and presentations
- Ability to conduct architecture reviews, POCs, technical audits, and design evaluations
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform Architect / Big Data Certification
- Experience with Unity Catalog, Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or similar governance/catalog tools
- Experience with Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, Pig, streaming, data migration, graph databases, or vector data
- Experience developing reusable architecture frameworks, accelerators, and technical solutions
What to Look For
Look for candidates who are true hands-on Data/Cloud Architects, not purely Infrastructure Architects or Application Architects.
The resume should clearly show:
- Azure data architecture involving ADLS, Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks.
- Databricks + Apache Spark hands-on experience designing large-scale data pipelines.
- Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT, and enterprise data integration.
- Strong data modeling, metadata, governance, lineage, and data quality experience.
- Python/Java and SQL hands-on development experience.
- Experience designing solutions across at least two data architecture areas: ingestion, data management, data delivery, or data consumption.
- Ability to work with customers and business stakeholders and provide architecture roadmaps and solution recommendations.
- Experience supporting RFPs, estimates, technical proposals, presentations, and solutioning.
- Strong architecture documentation and diagramming experience.
- Candidate must be comfortable working onsite in San Jose, CA, 5 days per week.
Avoid: Candidates who are only Azure Infrastructure Architects, only Application/Solution Architects, only Data Engineers without architecture ownership, or candidates whose resumes list Azure tools without showing real architecture and implementation experience.
