Job Description:
As a Senior CAD Designer, you will lead the creation of efficient site layout designs tailored to local zoning and design requirements for Land Development projects. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality plans and championing our graphic and CAD standards during the project design phase. You will collaborate closely with Engineers to provide expertise in utility layout and design, streamline coordination across the design set, and contribute to building and maintaining C3D models as needed for each project. Your active participation in bi-weekly CAD Department meetings will also be crucial in addressing key issues affecting project teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare efficient and feasible conceptual layout designs that are mindful of scope, schedule, and regulatory burden and achieve project objectives.
  • Independently produce deliverable-ready Concept Plans with correct spelling, precise geometry, accurate and well-placed labels, and the level of detail specified by the Project Manager.
  • Independently design-draft horizontal utility layouts free of conflicts and with crossings designed with required clearances and protective measures (i.e. cradles, sleeves, etc.).
  • Independently design-draft road and utility profile plans using Civil 3D's suite of alignment, profile, and pipe network tools.
  • Prepare grading designs utilizing Civil 3D under the oversight of the Engineering Department.
  • Independently perform earthwork analysis for completed site plan design using a combination Civil 3D volume surface tools and Landcore's earthwork calculation spreadsheet.
  • Prepare Subdivision Plan layouts based on coordinate geometry.
  • Independently prepare accurate site lighting designs using company-issued photometric modeling software.
  • ssist Engineering Department with limited drafting support as requested (i.e. final "fit & finish" drafting of CAD work prepared by Engineering Department, etc.).
  • Perform final drafting and quality control of all CAD-generated project deliverables prepared by my team in accordance with published company standards.
  • Prepare waiver request lists and justifications from municipal submission and design requirements in coordination with the Engineering department.
  • ssist Project Manager in establishing scope-of-work and hour budgets in association with kick-off meetings.
Requirements:
5+ years of relevant experience in Land Development consulting firms, demonstrating a strong understanding of engineering principles and best practices.
