About the Position

Cologix is seeking a Security Manager to lead physical security operations across multiple data center facilities within the Columbus market. This role is accountable for the performance, consistency, and governance of security operations, ensuring a secure, compliant, and audit-ready environment across all sites.

The Security Manager leads site-level personnel, including Lead Security Officers and contract guard services, and drives consistent execution of access control, incident response, and security procedures. This role ensures site readiness for internal, customer, and regulatory audits, including SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 requirements, in coordination with enterprise security and compliance teams.

This position requires strong operational leadership, the ability to scale consistent practices across multiple facilities, and the presence to represent site security operations in customer and executive engagements.

What You Do

Security Operations & Access Control
  • Oversee day-to-day security operations across multiple sites
  • Define and enforce access control standards, including badging, visitor access, and escort requirements
  • Ensure consistent application of post orders, procedures, and security protocols
  • Maintain accurate, auditable access records and documentation

Incident Response & Site Coordination
  • Lead escalation and coordination of security incidents
  • Ensure proper response, containment, and documentation
  • Partner with Operations during site-impacting or safety-related events
  • Review incidents and drive corrective actions

Audit, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure readiness for SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and customer audits
  • Maintain integrity of security documentation and access logs
  • Identify gaps and implement improvements to strengthen security posture
  • Standardize practices across all facilities

Vendor, Systems & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Manage contract security providers and enforce service level expectations
  • Oversee effectiveness of access control, CCTV, and alarm systems
  • Coordinate system maintenance and upgrades with Infrastructure
  • Partner with Operations, Infrastructure, and enterprise teams to support secure site execution

Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop Lead Security Officers and security personnel
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards
  • Ensure training, certification, and procedural adherence
  • Promote professionalism and operational discipline across all sites

What Makes You a Good Fit

  • 5+ years of experience in physical security, data center operations, or mission-critical environments
  • 2+ years leading teams in a 24x7 environment
  • Experience managing contract security vendors and guard force operations
  • Experience working in audited environments (SOC, ISO, or customer-driven)
  • Strong understanding of access control systems, CCTV, and physical security operations
  • Ability to operate across multiple sites and maintain consistent standards
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage customers and leadership

Preferred
  • Experience in colocation or multi-tenant environments
  • Familiarity with SOC 1, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 audit environments
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Operations and Infrastructure

Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. This position will also be eligible for an annual bonus.
