Cloud Solutions Architect – Google Cloud Platform / AWS / Azure

Job Overview

Client is seeking a senior Cloud Solutions Architect to support UDOT in designing, securing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure, primarily on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The role focuses on cloud architecture, legacy-to-cloud migrations, Infrastructure as Code, cloud security, IAM, and public-sector technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures using Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.

• Lead legacy-to-cloud migrations and distributed systems architecture.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.

• Design cloud networking, IAM, cybersecurity, and compliance solutions.

• Support BigQuery, cloud databases, APIs, Kubernetes/GKE, and containerized applications.

• Collaborate with DevOps teams and stakeholders on architecture, CI/CD, disaster recovery, and high availability.

• Identify opportunities for cloud performance, reliability, and cost optimization.

Required Qualifications

• Current Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure cloud certification.

• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience.

• Cloud infrastructure experience within government, higher education, or another public-sector organization.

• Strong cloud architecture, cybersecurity, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years in cloud architecture, DevOps, or technical leadership.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes/GKE, BigQuery, and cloud migrations.

• Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, or ISO/IEC 27001.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Important Requirements

• Must be a Utah resident and available to work on-site.

• Must be available for 20 hours per week.

• A 10-panel drug screen is required during onboarding.
