You AreWe are seeking an exceptional and deeply experienced leader to command our strategy for customers operating in the most secure and demanding environments in the world. This executive role is focused on driving the adoption of Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) and other secure hybrid solutions for Public Sector, Defense, Intelligence, and Critical Infrastructure clients.
The WorkYou will be responsible for bringing the full power of Google Cloud's Data, AI, and agentic technologies to the sovereign, disconnected, and air-gapped edge. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in national security or highly regulated industries, a profound understanding of sovereign cloud requirements, and the technical credibility to lead engagements where trust, security, and mission success are paramount.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Market Leadership: You will be the chief architect and driver of Google Cloud's comprehensive strategy for sovereign, air-gapped, and securely connected government and regulated industry customers. This involves defining the vision for how we will win high-stakes workloads in defense, intelligence, and national security. You will act as the senior voice for these unique customers inside Google, translating their complex operational, security, and data sovereignty requirements into actionable strategies for our specialized GDC and infrastructure engineering teams.
- Business and Mission Development: You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and winning large-scale, strategic opportunities in the most sensitive market segments. This involves building deep, trust-based relationships with senior leaders in government, military, and intelligence agencies. You will lead a cross-functional team to understand the intricate details of their missions and technical challenges, architecting compelling solutions that leverage GDC to deliver cloud-native capabilities directly to their secure facilities, forward-deployed locations, and tactical edge environments.
- Solution and Capability Integration: You will spearhead the adaptation of Google Cloud's advanced Data, AI, and agentic technologies for operation within the constraints of an air-gapped or highly restricted environment. This includes creating solutions for on-premises data fusion, real-time analytics on disconnected data, and deploying AI/ML models for tasks like threat detection, intelligence analysis, and autonomous systems, all without a connection to the public cloud. You will ensure these solutions are engineered for resilience, security, and independent operation.
- Security, Accreditation, and Compliance: You will be the ultimate champion for security and compliance in a world of complex and non-negotiable government standards. You will lead our strategy for achieving and maintaining the highest levels of government accreditation (e.g., IL-5, IL-6, Top Secret) for our GDC offerings. You will work hand-in-hand with government security assessors, agency CIOs, and CISOs to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to security and provide the assurance needed to operate in classified and mission-critical environments.
- Ecosystem and Partner Alliance: You will be responsible for building and nurturing a specialized ecosystem of partners essential for success in the secure and sovereign market. This includes defense prime contractors, system integrators with high-level security clearances, specialized hardware vendors, and niche software providers. Your goal is to create a powerful coalition that can deliver complete, accredited, end-to-end solutions to our government and critical infrastructure customers.
