Location: U.S. Remote
Role Overview
This position is focused on designing, developing, and optimizing software applications to bridge technical teams and end-users. The role involves migrating collection services from a legacy mainframe application to a SaaS application. The successful candidate will analyze existing interfaces, architect and design their transition, and engineer the replacement software, working within an Agile Release Train to deliver system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis of the existing CACS application and its documented interfaces.
- Identify required changes for integration with downstream applications.
- Create architecture and design documentation for the proposed processing.
- Engineer the technical solution, manage migration to the integration environment for testing, and resolve identified bugs.
- Assist with debt sale execution and validation by running existing mainframe programs.
- Design, develop, and optimize high-quality software applications using advanced programming languages and frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application functionality issues, performance problems, and bugs.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and lead small projects and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in application or software development engineering.
Technical Skills:- Expertise in mainframe programming languages and development tools such as JCL, COBOL, DB2, and IBM mainframe utilities (Syncsort, DFSort, ICETOOL) on z/OS.
- Experience with Changeman ZMF for change management and ESP for job scheduling.
- Advanced proficiency in software development principles, SAFe/Agile methodology, and version control systems.
- Deep understanding of database structures, web technologies, and technical applications.
- Experience in software testing, quality assurance, and code optimization.
- Knowledge of customer support tools, ticketing systems, and knowledge base platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of Collections business processes.
