Job Summary: Partners across business, IT, privacy, security, and other units to build and strengthen governance capabilities across Data, Information, and AI Governance programs from established initiatives to those still taking shape. Takes direction and runs with it, translating ambiguous or evolving needs into practical processes, documentation, and tools with minimal day-to-day oversight.
Position Duties:
Design and implement governance processes, workflows, and documentation for programs across a range of maturity from established to still-forming
Translate business needs into practical frameworks, tools, and training materials
Partner with stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences to drive adoption
Operate with significant autonomy identify gaps, propose solutions, and execute without a predefined playbook
Flex across programs as priorities shift, applying the same core skill set to different levels of ambiguity and structure
Required Skills:
Quickly grasps governance, policy, or regulatory requirements and translates them into clear processes, documentation, guides, and stakeholder conversations
Comfortable building structure from ambiguity; doesn't wait to be told what to do
Strong process design, documentation, and analytical skills
Skilled communicator who adapts across technical and executive audiences
Self-directed, results-oriented, adaptable to shifting priorities
Preferred Skills:
Experience in higher education or another complex, decentralized institutional environment
Exposure to governance, compliance, or risk-related work (data, information, or AI)
Qualifications: 5-8 years of experience in business process, governance, compliance, IT business analysis, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred (any field); higher education experience as a student or employee is a plus. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
