Cloud Engineer (Azure Infrastructure as Code)

Location: Florham Park, NJ (Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with a strong Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience to support a large-scale Azure cloud transformation initiative. This role will focus on designing, automating, and managing cloud infrastructure through code, helping drive modernization efforts across enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Terraform, strong Azure knowledge, automation and scripting experience, and a passion for building scalable, secure, and highly automated cloud platforms. This position offers the opportunity to partner closely with architects, developers, and infrastructure teams while helping shape the future state of enterprise cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure as Code & Cloud Automation

  • Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform.
  • Build reusable Terraform modules, templates, and automation frameworks.
  • Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of Azure cloud resources.
  • Develop infrastructure solutions following security, compliance, and organizational standards.
  • Support migration and modernization initiatives through infrastructure automation.
  • Build and maintain immutable infrastructure patterns and image-based deployment strategies.

Azure Platform Engineering

  • Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to design scalable Azure infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop automated solutions utilizing Azure services, APIs, and cloud-native capabilities.
  • Create deployment plans, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud environments for performance, availability, cost efficiency, and security.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and runtime issues across cloud environments.

DevOps & CI/CD

  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
  • Leverage DevOps tooling including Jenkins, Ansible, Git, Jira, VS Code, and related automation platforms.
  • Conduct code reviews and help establish infrastructure coding standards and best practices.
  • Improve deployment reliability through automation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Automation & Scripting

  • Develop automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
  • Build and enhance cloud automation workflows that reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  • Integrate infrastructure solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, and deployment platforms.
  • Support automated image creation, deployment, and lifecycle management processes.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Partner with development, architecture, and operations teams on solution design and implementation.
  • Document infrastructure standards, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
  • Communicate technical concepts and deployment approaches to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging Azure capabilities, Infrastructure-as-Code practices, and cloud engineering trends.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or related disciplines.
  • Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven experience developing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions.
  • Experience supporting cloud transformation or modernization initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Terraform and Packer, a strong understanding of Azure architecture, and a passion for automation. You should be comfortable creating reusable modules and templates, implementing immutable infrastructure approaches, and developing solutions that automate cloud deployments from end to end.
You will also be expected to communicate effectively with architects and engineering teams, create deployment documentation and diagrams, and contribute to strategic cloud modernization initiatives.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work arrangement with 3 days onsite in Florham Park, NJ.
  • Collaborative team environment supporting enterprise cloud transformation and platform engineering initiatives.
  • Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
