Job Title: Performance Tester

Role Overview

We are seeking a Performance Tester with 6+ years of experience to join an Agile engineering team. This role focuses strictly on performance—not functional testing. You will be responsible for the end-to-end performance lifecycle, from requirement gathering and scripting to execution and deep-dive analysis.

Core Responsibilities

• Test Design: Establish load, stress, volume, spike, and failover scenarios.

• Scripting: Develop and maintain complex test scripts using Java.

• Execution & Monitoring: Conduct test runs and monitor server utilization/performance metrics.

• Analysis: Analyze results comprehensively and present findings to product and tech-ops teams.

• Collaboration: Participate in code reviews for test scenarios and coordinate with dependent product teams.

• Log Analysis: Utilize production logs to determine target and peak load models.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 6+ years of dedicated Performance Testing experience.

• Tooling: Proficiency in BOTH LoadRunner and JMeter is required.

• Technical Skills: Strong scripting abilities in Java.

• Monitoring: Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace) to collect and interpret metrics.

• Methodology: Solid understanding of Agile workflows and performance testing lifecycle.

Work Environment & Location Details

• Kansas City Candidates: Hybrid schedule (5 days per month work-from-home flexibility).

• Remote Candidates: 100% remote during the contract period for those located near major metropolitan hubs (Boston, NYC, Philly, Cleveland, Richmond, Atlanta, Chicago, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Dallas, or San Francisco).

• Note: Candidates must be within commutable distance of these locations as future conversion to permanent status would require a hybrid schedule.
