Enterprise Data Governance & Compliance

• Develop and operationalize enterprise data governance policies, standards, and processes.
• Establish data ownership, stewardship models, and domain accountability structures.
• Define data classification, retention, privacy, and lifecycle standards aligned with insurance regulations.
• Lead governance councils and cross-functional working groups.

• Experience using Atlan as the enterprise data catalog and governance platform.
• Configure metadata ingestion from data warehouses, BI tools, ETL pipelines, and core insurance systems.
• Build and manage:
  • Data domains and taxonomies
  • Business glossary
  • Data lineage visualization
  • Data quality scorecards
  • Stewardship workflows
  • Classification and tagging frameworks

• Implement data issue management and remediation workflows within Atlan.
• Ensure compliance with:
  • NAIC reporting requirements
  • State insurance regulations
  • Data privacy laws (HIPAA where applicable, CCPA, etc.)
• Support audit and regulatory reporting readiness.

Insurance Domain Alignment

• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, legal, and compliance teams.
• Establish trusted data assets for:
  • Loss ratio analysis
  • Claims reserves reporting
  • Risk modeling
  • Policy lifecycle management
• Improve transparency and traceability of regulatory reporting data through lineage and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
• 5 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or enterprise data implementation.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience configuring and administering Atlan.
• Experience in insurance or financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM)
  • Metadata management and lineage
  • Data quality frameworks
  • Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Regulatory reporting in insurance
• Experience integrating Atlan with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, etc.).
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
