The Strata program's GEOINT Visualization Services (GVS) system has been delivering secure, on-demand geospatial intelligence since its first fielded deployment in 2006 and earned Program-of-Record status in 2008. GVS enables Federal agencies to access, explore, and integrate GEOINT data through a versatile, web-based suite of visualization tools, APIs, and utilities that support a wide range of client technologies and applications. By turning massive geospatial data sets into actionable insight, GVS directly supports the warfighter and federal decision-makers, protecting lives and securing the homeland.
Lockheed Martin's Strata program is seeking a Geospatial Applications Product Owner to provide product leadership for OpenStreetMap (OSM) and other associated geospatial visualization services. In this role you will serve as the primary point of contact for the government customer, delivering stakeholder oversight, technical guidance, and work-prioritization recommendations. You will translate mission-level objectives into a clear product roadmap, align development backlogs with customer priorities, and coordinate with cross-functional Agile (Scrum/SAFe) teams to ensure secure, high-performance geospatial solutions across multiple customer environments. The position demands strong government-customer engagement, the ability to brief senior leadership on technical and non-technical matters, and a deep awareness of OSM and geospatial technologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Government Liaison & Stakeholder Oversight: Serve as the primary point of contact for the government customer; lead briefings, status meetings, and stakeholder TEMs
- Technical Guidance & Architecture Review: Evaluate design proposals and provide expert advice to development and DevSecOps teams to ensure solutions meet technical, performance, and compliance standards.
- Work-Prioritization & Backlog Alignment: Assess mission impact, risk, and resource constraints; recommend backlog prioritization and release sequencing to align development work with customer priorities.
- Product Roadmap Stewardship: Maintain a high-level roadmap for OSM and related geospatial visualization services, ensuring it reflects evolving customer needs and emerging technologies.
- Agile Coordination: Participate in SAFe/Scrum ceremonies (PI Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospective) and convey government priorities to the development teams without direct backlog ownership.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of product-related or senior stakeholder-management experience in an Agile (Scrum/SAFe) environment
- Hands on development experience designing, coding, testing, and deploying cloud native geospatial services (e.g., OSM tile pipelines, QGIS plugins, CI/CD pipelines) in an Agile/SAFe environment
- Prior work with geospatial platforms (OSM, QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.)
- Proven ability to engage senior government customers, translate mission goals into technical guidance, and influence product direction without direct line-management authority
- Security+ certification or willingness to obtain it (CompTIA Security+)
- U.S. citizen with active Top-Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with a CI Poly
Desired skills
- Strong written & verbal communication; able to brief technical and non-technical audiences concisely
- Experience with OSM pipelines, APIs (Nominatim, Overpass) and tile-service architecture
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and container-orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift) for geospatial service delivery
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD tooling, and automated security testing in TS/SCI environments
- Understanding of geospatial standards (O ISO 19115) and emerging tech (AI-driven feature extraction, vector tiles, real-time updates)
- Ability to build and present performance dashboards (Grafana, PowerBI, or NGA analytics)
- Prior experience briefing senior government leadership on technical solutions, risk, and roadmap strategy
- Security+ certification (CompTIA Security+)
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
