Job DetailsControls Technician ? Building Automation Systems
Location: Tulsa, OK
About the Role: We are seeking a Controls Technician to support the installation, programming, startup, and service of commercial HVAC and building automation systems throughout the Tulsa area. This role will work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to deliver high-quality control system solutions for a variety of commercial and industrial facilities.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HVAC controls, low-voltage systems, troubleshooting, and controls integration. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving technical problems, and supporting complex building systems.
Responsibilities
- \tInstall, troubleshoot, program, and service building automation and HVAC control systems
- \tWork with DDC controllers, low-voltage wiring, sensors, control panels, and networked systems
- \tInterpret blueprints, control drawings, and engineering specifications to support installation and startup activities
- \tPerform point-to-point checkout, system commissioning, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
- \tSupport integration of HVAC equipment, lighting controls, and related building systems
- \tTroubleshoot communication and controls issues involving BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based networks
- \tCoordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project execution
- \tDocument service activity, project updates, and completed work accurately
- \tMaintain strong customer relationships while representing the company in a professional manner
- \tAssist with system upgrades, retrofits, and ongoing service support as needed
Qualifications
- \t2+ years of experience with HVAC controls, building automation systems, or low-voltage controls installation
- \tExperience working with BAS/BMS, DDC controls, or controls integration environments
- \tUnderstanding of electrical systems, control wiring, relays, sensors, and network communication
- \tFamiliarity with BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP networking, or related control protocols preferred
- \tAbility to read mechanical, electrical, and control drawings
- \tStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- \tComfortable working independently in the field and supporting multiple job sites
- \tValid driver?s license and clean driving record required
Preferred Experience
- \tNiagara, Tridium, Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Alerton, or similar BAS platforms
- \tStartup and commissioning experience
- \tCommercial HVAC systems knowledge
- \tExperience supporting service and retrofit projects
