Job Details

Overview:
Growing infrastructure-focused organization seeking a Payroll Coordinator to support high-volume, weekly payroll processing in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role responsible for accurate payroll execution, employee record maintenance, and payroll-related compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly in-house payroll (~1,800 employees) including union and non-union populations
  • Handle direct deposits (~1,500) and paper checks (~50); transmit payroll data to banking partners
  • Maintain employee records: onboarding, terminations, pay rates, deductions, garnishments
  • Support garnishment processing, VOEs, new hire reporting, and tax-related inquiries
  • Assist with quarterly/annual tax filings and W-2 processing
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Collaborate on payroll projects and process improvements

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of high-volume, in-house payroll experience (union exposure strongly preferred)
  • Experience with job costing and/or construction payroll is a plus
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsive
  • Strong communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
