About the Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Ads Engineering team, you will design and build the high-performance backend systems that power real time bidding, ad serving, and optimization at a truly global scale. Your work will influence how billions of ad impressions, bids, and conversions are processed daily. You'll take full ownership of services end to end, collaborate closely with product and data partners, and help shape the architectural direction of an industry leading ads platform.

Duties:
* Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and optimize large scale backend systems for ad serving, optimization, and reporting
* Collaborate with product, data science, and client delivery teams to bring impactful features to life
* Own projects from architecture through deployment, monitoring, and iteration
* Improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience across mission critical services
* Innovate in areas such as auction dynamics, optimization algorithms, and ad performance
* As a Senior Software Engineer, you will use data and metrics to guide decisions and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
* Influence architecture, technical strategy, and engineering best practices

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of experience building large-scale or high availability systems
* Experience building backend services, APIs, and data pipelines with performance and reliability in mind
* Hands on experience deploying and operating systems in cloud environments like AWS or Azure
* Experience working within modern CI/CD pipelines and large shared codebases
* Strong knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, and performance optimization
* Strong programming fundamentals and expertise in at least one strongly typed or object-oriented language (Go, Python, Rust, or C preferred)
* Proficiency with databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Redis, or Aerospike
* Curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to learn new technologies
* Excellent communication skills and an ability to influence across teams
* A track record of delivering engineering work that creates real business impact
* Proven ability to mentor others and elevate overall technical quality

Bonus Points For:
* Experience with real-time bidding systems, ad serving platforms, or performance marketing tech
* Experience improving developer productivity or scaling core platform systems
* Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka or Pulsar
* Knowledge of experimentation frameworks or machine learning driven optimization

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
