We are seeking an experienced Red Hat Linux Administrator to join our team and support the design, implementation, and management of our Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), automation, system security, and enterprise operations. This role will contribute to system reliability, performance optimization, and overall infrastructure modernization.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four days per week.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard hours, occasional nights and weekends for maintenance

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across production and non-production environments
• Manage user accounts, access controls, sudo policies, and authentication services (LDAP, AD integration, SSSD, Kerberos)
• Perform routine system updates, patching, kernel upgrades, and security hardening
• Configure and troubleshoot system services (systemd, SELinux, firewalld, NTP, DNS, DHCP)
• Monitor system health, performance, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools
• Manage storage, logical volumes, file systems (ext4, XFS), and network file services (NFS, SMB)
• Support network configuration, routing, VLANs, bonding, and firewall rules
• Automate operational tasks using Bash, Python, or Ansible
• Participate in backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery planning and execution
• Provide technical guidance to application teams and collaborate with security, network, and cloud engineering groups
• Maintain accurate system documentation and operational procedures
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed
• AI User: Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to enhance productivity and innovation by streamlining workflows and automating repetitive tasks. Evaluate emerging trends to drive continuous improvement and strategic innovation

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
• 3+ years of experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with RHEL 7/8/9
• 3+ years of experience with automation tools such as Ansible
• 3+ years of experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.)
• Advanced level of understanding of SELinux, systemd, firewalld, and package management (RPM, yum/dnf)
• Advanced level of knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
• Intermediate level of understanding with virtualization platforms (VMware, KVM, or RHV)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Red Hat certifications: RHCSA, RHCE
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience with Git or CI/CD tools
• Familiarity with enterprise storage technologies

Soft Skills:

• Proven solid troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
