OverviewThe Head of Engineering Experience and Platforms is responsible for championing the productivity, satisfaction, and continuous growth of our engineering community. This role ensures that engineers are empowered with intelligent, automated, and AI augmented tools, processes, and platforms that accelerate the delivery of high quality software at scale. Reporting to the Head of Engineering and Delivery Enablement, this leader will shape the future of our development ecosystem by embedding AI native and agentic capabilities throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The team will own the creation and evolution of a seamless, scalable, and frictionless engineering environment-one that anticipates needs, orchestrates workflows, and reduces cognitive load through AI automation and smart developer assistance. Partnering closely with senior technology leaders and strategic stakeholders, this role will drive the modernization of our SDLC, enabling engineers to work in a highly optimized environment where intelligent agents automate repetitive tasks, surface insights proactively, improve code quality, and create an unparalleled development experience.
Key Responsibilities- Engineer Productivity: Own and optimize the end-to-end developer workflow, including onboarding, tooling decisions, documentation, and internal platforms.
- Advocacy & Support: Act as the voice of engineer, identifying pain points and driving improvements across teams and projects.
- Tooling & Platforms: Evaluate, implement and manage best-in-class development tools, including GitHub Copilot (or similar AI Code Assistants), AI agents for developer experience, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and internal developer platforms.
- Collaboration: Partner with the Head of Architecture to align on technical standards and with the Head of Cloud to ensure cloud-native best practices
- Engineering Metrics: Lead the Engineering Metrics Program, defining, tracking, and reporting on developer experience and productivity metrics.
- Developer Evangelization: Lead the Developer Evangelization Group to aid development teams in adopting new technologies and processes.
- Metrics & Feedback: Run regular feedback loops to measure and improve developer satisfaction.
- Culture & Community: Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and knowledge sharing through internal events, documentation, and mentorship.
Qualifications- 10+ years of proven experience in software engineering, developer productivity, or platform engineering over 10 years.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Deep understanding of modern development workflows, cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and developer productivity tools such as Github (or similar platforms) GitHub Copilot, AI agents, and GitHub Actions
Salary Range:$152,290.00 - $250,195.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
