 JOB DESCRIPTION

The SAP MRO Specialist is responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting SAP Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) processes within the SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA environment. This role ensures that endtoend maintenance and service operations are optimized, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. The specialist collaborates with crossfunctional teams to improve asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, repair execution, and logistical integration.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
2. 3–7+ years of handson SAP PM/MRO configuration experience.
3. Strong understanding of maintenance operations in regulated or assetintensive industries.
4. Experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly preferred.
5. Knowledge of repairable/rotable parts, maintenance planning, and work order processes.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience in aviation, transportation, utilities, heavy equipment, or manufacturing MRO environments.
2. Familiarity with EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) best practices.
3. Ability to write functional specs for ABAP development.
4. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
5. Experience with mobile maintenance tools (SAP Fiori, SAP Work Manager, Asset Manager).

SAP Configuration & Functional Support

1. Configure and support SAP MRO modules including PM (Plant Maintenance), CS (Customer Service), MM (Materials Management), and PP (Production Planning).
2. Design and optimize MRO processes such as:
1. Work order management
2. Preventive and predictive maintenance
3. Component overhaul cycles
4. Service notifications
5. Maintenance planning and scheduling
6. Capacity planning & labor management
3. Support SAP S/4HANA MRO functions such as Maintenance Planning, Asset Management, and Repairable Management.

Process Optimization

1. Analyze current maintenance processes to identify efficiency gaps and system improvements.
2. Implement best practices for:
1. Asset lifecycle management
2. Rotables & repairable parts tracking
3. Warranty and service contract management
4. Shop floor execution for repairs and overhauls
3. Work with reliability and engineering teams to integrate master data (BOMs, task lists, equipment hierarchies).

Project & Implementation Support

1. Lead or support SAP projects, enhancements, and rollouts.
2. Gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
3. Perform system testing, UAT coordination, and documentation.

Operations & Stakeholder Collaboration

1. Provide ongoing support to maintenance, operations, supply chain, and finance teams.
2. Act as the SME for SAP MRO processes.
3. Train end users and develop training materials.

Integration

1. Work closely with IT and business teams on integration between MRO and:
1. Supply Chain (MM, WM/EWM)
2. Procurement
3. Finance/Controlling (FI/CO)
4. Quality Management (QM)
5. Production Planning
