Key Responsibilities

• Executive Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Direct high-level stakeholder and vendor engagement, dedicating 15–20% of your time to executive communication, stakeholder alignment, and leading monthly sponsor health-check meetings.

• Methodology & Lifecycle Governance: Oversee end-to-end project execution—from initiation to closeout—ensuring strict adherence to the State of Michigan’s SUITE framework and internal agency prioritization workflows.

• Control & Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor rigorous project controls to track and manage changes to scope, cost, quality, and schedule, proactively exercising quality control to meet sponsor expectations.

• Team Direction: Guide day-to-day operations, task execution, and deliverable tracking across large cross-functional project teams.

• Strategic Reporting & Escalation: Provide comprehensive planning, resource staffing, and status reporting while promptly escalating critical risks and issues to agency executives.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience applying advanced Project Management principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.

• 5+ years of experience working successfully within matrixed organizational team environments.

• 5+ years of experience utilizing system development methodologies for building new information systems and enhancing legacy solutions.

• 5+ years of experience managing complex stakeholder relationships, building cross-functional consensus, facilitating working sessions, and negotiating positive outcomes.

• 5+ years of experience resolving high-priority conflicts, competing requirements, and navigating ambiguous project challenges.

• 5+ years of advanced data analysis experience focused on identifying core problems and engineering actionable solutions.

• 5+ years of experience translating complex stakeholder needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and project objectives.
