Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, integrate, test, and troubleshoot embedded control software for electronic control systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with C/C++, Model-Based Development, embedded controls, MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, CAN/J1939, Ethernet, and embedded software testing. This role will support embedded software used in diesel engine, battery electric, and fuel cell programs.

Required Experience

• 5 7 years of relevant embedded software development experience
• At least 5 years of industry experience with:
  • C programming
  • Model-Based Development
  • Embedded control software development

Required Skills

• Strong programming experience in C and/or C++
• Experience with Model-Based Development
• Strong experience in embedded control software development
• Good debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Experience using debuggers and embedded development tools
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and component datasheets
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Experience with:
  • Requirements analysis
  • Functional specifications
  • Development
  • Testing
  • Delivery
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software
• Experience troubleshooting software/system issues and implementing fixes

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain embedded software for electronic control systems
• Develop embedded applications using C/C++
• Support Model-Based Development activities
• Configure, integrate, build, and test embedded software
• Develop software for diesel engine, battery electric, and fuel cell control systems
• Translate system and software requirements into embedded software solutions
• Perform requirements development and verification
• Execute embedded software testing in bench environments
• Troubleshoot software and system defects
• Analyze and improve system stability, efficiency, and scalability
• Support application software integration activities
• Work with embedded communication protocols such as CAN/J1939 and Ethernet
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, controls, and validation teams
• Participate in the complete embedded software development lifecycle
• Document technical designs, test results, issues, and development progress
