Infrastructure Lead (Compute, Cloud, Backup/DR and Network)

Varmoda is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Lead to own enterprise compute and data network services. The role covers 104 servers across the Headquarters data center and an off-site colocation facility, plus 74 switches, 24 firewalls, wireless, VPN and carrier connectivity linking 19 main offices and 45 properties. We are looking for a senior engineer who can keep platforms secure, recoverable and monitored, meet defined RTO/RPO targets, and execute approved refreshes and migrations with tested rollback plans.

Roles & Responsibilities

• 10+ years in enterprise infrastructure covering servers, virtualization, storage and networking.
• Operate Veeam on-premises and Microsoft 365 backup, verify jobs, perform authorized restores and run scheduled restore tests.
• Maintain DR configurations, runbooks and test reports mapped to RTO/RPO.
• Administer LAN/WAN, wireless, firewalls and VPN, in coordination with Managed Security Services.
• Escalate and manage carrier tickets, test and maintain failover and high availability, and keep network diagrams and configuration backups current.
• Plan and execute approved server, storage, firewall and network refreshes, segmentation and site cutovers.

Relevant Experience

• Supported a hybrid environment spanning on-premises, colocation and Azure/IaaS.
• Managed multi-site enterprise networks with redundant carriers and remote-site firewalls.
• Ran DR testing and reported actual recovery time and recovery point achieved.

Required Skills:

• Server and OS operations, virtualization and VDI, cloud infrastructure support, storage administration, patch and vulnerability coordination, routing, switching, wireless, firewall/VPN operations, configuration management.

Tools & Technology

• Veeam, Microsoft 365 backup, Azure/IaaS, VDI/AVD, Ruckus ICX, Brocade/Extreme MLXe, Cisco Nexus 9K and Catalyst 9200L, FortiGate, SolarWinds monitoring.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in IT or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Certifications

• Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104); Veeam Certified Engineer; Fortinet NSE or Cisco CCNP.
