Job Description

  • The main function of a non-IT Project Manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in engineering, research & development, financial systems, product roll-out, or other non-IT projects.
  • Coordinate projects by developing detailed plans, accomplishing goals, and directing the integration of technical activities.
  • Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients.

Position's Contributions to Work Group

  • This role will lead New Product Introduction for customer and dealer-facing Connectivity Solutions (Cellular, Sat, Wi?Fi, BT, UWB, etc.)
  • Responsibilities include generating functional requirements from customer (VOC), dealer (VOD), business (VOB), and regulatory (VOR) input and aligning them with market and industry trends.
  • The role ensures consistency between marketing, system, and hardware requirement documents while working closely with enterprise technical leaders.

Typical Day or Week in the Role

  • Help define functional connectivity requirements.
  • Collaborate with potential suppliers.
  • Define technology roadmaps.
  • Drive engineering execution and stakeholder communication.
  • Gather customer connectivity and feature requests, refine them, guide development, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Partner with technology and digital teams on enterprise architecture, implementation of new technologies, and evaluation of emerging technology solutions.
  • Interaction with Team: Lead cross-functional teams through meetings, workshops, requirements definition, and engineering execution.
  • Team Structure: Global team with most interaction in the U.S. and additional collaboration with India teams.
  • Work Environment: In-office five days per week.

Education & Experience Required

  • 10 years of experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • Two-year degree not accepted.
  • Master's candidates must also have 10 years of experience.
  • Internships do not count as experience.

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to perform complex assignments.
  • Proven history of High Velocity Program Execution and Risk Management.

  • Required: Electronic component, information systems, and machine systems development experience and knowledge.
  • Desired: Connectivity/telematics product line, onboard software, gateway and platform knowledge.
  • Desired: Heavy equipment product development.
  • Desired: On-machine technology (Grade Control, Remote Control, Autonomy).
  • Desired: IoT standards, regulations, and regional requirements.
  • Desired: Wireless technologies including cellular, satellite, Wi?Fi, Bluetooth, positioning, etc.

  • Desired: Knowledge of decision-making processes and associated tools and techniques.
  • Desired: Leadership concepts and ability to influence others toward objectives.
  • Desired: Ability to communicate effectively with VP-level stakeholders.
