Role Description

Form Energy is hiring an Equipment Engineer II specializing in Automation Systems, you will be responsible for the design, integration, and optimization of advanced automation cells. This includes developing movement logic for high-speed systems, designing Fanuc robotic cells and End-of-Arm Tooling, integrating vision systems for guidance and inspection, and programming/simulating workflows to ensure seamless and safe operations before deployment.

This opportunity is based out of Form Factory 1 - Form Energy's 550,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Weirton, WV, a commutable distance from Pittsburgh. Purpose-built for high-volume, advanced battery production, Form Factory 1 is a hub of fast-moving, collaborative work driving a new era of large-scale American energy manufacturing in the heart of the Rust Belt.

What you'll do:

• Design and integrate robotic cells, specifically focusing on Fanuc platforms and End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT).
• Develop and optimize movement logic for gantries, conveyors, and high-speed pick-and-place systems.
• Collaborate with the E&I lead to ensure seamless handshakes between the robot controller and the primary PLC.
• Program and simulate automation workflows to identify potential bottlenecks before the equipment hits the floor.

What you'll bring:

• Proficiency in Fanuc ROBOGUIDE or similar simulation software.
• Experience with vision system integration (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for part inspection or robotic guidance.
• Familiarity with safety standards for collaborative and industrial robot cells (ISO 10218).
• Bachelors degree or higher in mechanical engineer, electrical engineering, or equivalent degree
