The Developer will be for working with client development teams that drives and executes the strategy for technology advances in client’s electronic trading platform. This individual is responsible for coding on projects for systems that must achieve a unique blend of ultra-low latency performance, the capacity to seamlessly facilitate the busiest trading days in the world economy, and rock-solid reliability and integrity, all while undergoing rapid release cycles. Achieving these goals will require an understanding of both the underlying technology and the development, testing, and deployment life-cycle of the applications. The candidate must be able to solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and possess the ability to lead others to achieve the critical mission of the team.

This is a Server-side role involved in building, optimizing, and enhancing core application logic for performance and low latency processing of a trading platform and/or transformation of a financial information data exchange system to an internal binary messaging platform. The client is looking to transform these systems to the Google Cloud Platform, and you will be focusing on direct development related activities such as coding, design/re-design and support. Note: Some L3 support will be required over time for some components of the system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Development – Strong/Solid experience in Java/Core (Java 8 or 11) a must and a strong understanding of J2EE Architecture. Experience with Microservices, Rest APIs. (Google Cloud Platform a plus) and must have hands on experience in financial services/trading desk environment.
• Performance tuning –Benchmarking and capacity tests to identify bottlenecks in system. Knows how to develop code which is efficient with computing resources (memory, cpu, etc).
• Application Optimization - for high throughput – memory allocation, java runtime options, minimize Garbage Collection
• OS system – memory utilization, cpu utilization, disk i/o, system load etc.
