Snowflake Platform Administration experience is required.

The Development, Data and Analytics Team provides the development platforms and the enterprise data in our Data Warehouses. This position is for a DBA Sr to support our OLTP SQL Servers and our Business Intelligence server associated with our applications. We also have a team of DBAs focused on the successful adoption of Business Intelligence tools throughout the county. The officially supported BI tools are: SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Tableau, and Power BI. We have On-Prem SQL servers as well as databases in the Azure Cloud and in Snowflake.

This DBA SR will be assigned production support and new projects.

Scope of Work: This DBA Sr contractor position provides analysis, design, development, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting for our databases and servers (On-Prem SQL Servers, Azure Cloud, and Snowflake). This position also must be able to do Tableau Server administration and PBIRS Server administration. This will be a mix of production support work, standard maintenance, as well as small to large projects.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Seven (7) years of IT DBA experience.
• This position must pass a criminal history records check.
• Azure Cloud experience (Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Azure Boards, Azure Blob Storage, etc).

• Snowflake Platform administration
• Tableau Server administration
• PBIRS Server administration
  
  The skills:
  * Advanced experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Lake, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure SQL Server
  * Advanced experience doing DBA work both On-Prem and Cloud (Azure & Snowflake)
  * Advanced experience working with developers to build ETLs for loading data for reporting
  * Advanced experience in PBIRS server administration, upgrades, and support
  * Advanced experience with Tableau Server administration
  
• The work:
  * Develop large-scale databases and data warehousing
  * Perform database architecture and develop technical standards for large-scale databases for our data warehouse (SQL Server and Azure) on countywide or multi-department platforms.
  * Troubleshoot problems and provide technical assistance to developers and database users.
  * Provide project management and work with other departments or outside agencies to integrate data from multiple database platforms and data providers.
  * Formulate scope and objectives for database projects; define outcomes; develop and recommend solutions; problem solve and build consensus with management, customers, and vendors to negotiate project priorities and outcomes.
  * Maintain integrity and security of databases; coordinate and perform database software installations, upgrades, and patches.
  * Design, implement, and schedule physical and logical database backups; plan and perform database restoration and recovery.
  * Develop database scripts and triggers; migrate data between database environments (development, testing, and production).
  * Monitor, adjust, and optimize space utilization and database performance.
  * Act as an expert in database architecture and technical standards for large-scale databases and data warehousing
