Job Title: Energy Financial Modelling & Power Analytics Analyst
Experience: 4–6 years
Preferred Locations: Dallas, TX | Houston, TX
Contract
Duration: 6 Months with possible extension.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Energy Financial Modelling & Power Analytics professional to support power and energy analysis across a large portfolio of approximately 1,600 warehouse/industrial properties.
The ideal candidate will combine strong energy-sector knowledge, financial modelling, power-market analysis, and investment evaluation skills. A key requirement is the ability to develop financial and pro forma models from scratch, analyze power availability and infrastructure economics, and evaluate the ROI of energy-related opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Power & Energy Analysis
• Conduct power availability and energy studies for a large portfolio of warehouse/industrial properties.
• Analyze existing and potential power capacity, demand, availability, constraints, and energy requirements.
• Evaluate power requirements associated with warehouse and industrial operations.
• Consolidate and analyze power-related information across approximately 1,600 properties.
• Identify locations where power availability or infrastructure may present opportunities or constraints.
Financial Modeling
• Build detailed financial models from scratch specifically for energy and power-related projects.
• Develop pro forma financial models to evaluate energy investments and infrastructure opportunities.
• Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses using variables such as investment cost, energy costs, capacity assumptions and operating economics.
• Develop cash-flow projections and investment cases.
ROI & Investment Analysis
• Perform ROI analysis for proposed power and energy initiatives.
• Evaluate project economics using relevant measures such as ROI, NPV, IRR, payback period and cash-flow analysis.
• Compare alternative investment scenarios and provide financially supported recommendations.
• Translate technical power/energy information into financial implications that can support business and investment decisions.
Required Qualifications
• 4–6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within the power, energy, utilities, renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or related sectors.
• Demonstrated experience building sophisticated financial models from scratch, rather than only maintaining existing models.
• Strong understanding of energy economics and power-related investment analysis.
• Experience developing pro forma models and ROI/investment analyses.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial-modelling skills.
• Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work with large datasets covering multiple assets/locations.
• Ability to present complex energy and financial analysis clearly to business and investment stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Energy/Energy Management, Energy Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience working with utilities, power markets, energy infrastructure, industrial facilities or large commercial property portfolios.
• Experience analyzing large multi-site portfolios is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with energy-market data and power availability/capacity analysis.
• Exposure to Power BI, Python, SQL or similar analytical tools would be advantageous, (But I would keep these as preferred rather than mandatory unless Magesh specifically confirms the technology requirement).
