This pivotal role focuses on reviewing and optimizing pressure relief valve (PSV) calculations, ensuring plant safety, and supporting successful project execution. In this role, you will evaluate existing relief systems, collaborate with operations and vendors, develop process simulations, and provide vital mitigation strategies. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining safe and reliable plant operations.
Required Skills: - Minimum of 3 years of experience with PSV calculations and relief systems within a chemical plant setting.
- Strong proficiency in process simulation software (Honeywell UniSim, HYSYS, Promax, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of API 520 and API 521 standards.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate with internal teams and vendors in technical environments.
Nice to Have Skills: - Familiarity with API 2000 and API 2510.
- Additional experience with API 520 and 521 beyond 5 years.
- Prior experience working on safety-critical projects and risk assessments.
- Motor vehicle operation for plant data collection, with proper PPE usage.
Preferred Education and Experience: - Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Over 5 years of specialized experience in PSV calculations, relief systems, or process safety within a chemical or industrial plant.
Other Requirements: - In-office work at Downtown Houston; occasional travel to plant locations with PPE and vehicle use.
- Ability to commit to a 12-month contract, with a work schedule Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as needed.
