Summary
A technology-focused services organization is seeking an experienced Fishbowl Consultant to support short-term, part-time projects on a fully remote basis. This role is designed for a highly technical consultant who can quickly step into complex environments, troubleshoot critical issues, and deliver practical solutions across Fishbowl and QuickBooks integrations. Engagements typically run 30-60 days and require deep, hands-on expertise.
You will be responsible for resolving advanced plugin and integration challenges, navigating Fishbowl's database and file structures, and optimizing overall system stability and performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an independent problem-solver who enjoys tackling technically demanding work and making immediate impact.
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with Fishbowl Inventory in production environments
- Advanced troubleshooting experience with Fishbowl plugin integrations
- Detailed knowledge of Fishbowl's database structure, limitations, and reporting constraints
- Strong understanding of Fishbowl's software and file structure, including plugin configuration and properties files
- Experience creating and maintaining custom reports despite non-ideal database architecture
- Expertise optimizing server environments for Fishbowl and QuickBooks stability and performance
- Strong knowledge of item mapping and data synchronization between Fishbowl and QuickBooks
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting integrations using the QuickBooks SDK and WebConnector
- General server administration skills, including performance tuning and system stability
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote, part-time consulting role
Desired Skills & Experience
- Prior consulting experience supporting short-term (30-60 day) engagements
- Experience working closely with accounting, operations, or IT teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to diagnose system limitations and recommend effective workarounds
- Comfort operating in environments with limited vendor documentation or support
