Downstream Bioprocess Research Associate
Education

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field strongly preferred.

Required Experience and Skills

• Experience working with adjuvant and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) processing is a plus.
• Experience with tangential flow filtration (TFF), including microfiltration and ultrafiltration.
• Comfortable working in a laboratory environment.
• Strong scientific understanding of downstream bioprocess purification processes.
• Understanding of purification operations for large, complex molecules.
• Technical understanding of bioprocess scale-up and scale-down principles.
• Hands-on wet chemistry laboratory skills, including pipetting, buffer preparation, filtration, dilution, and stoichiometric calculations.
• Proficiency with technical writing and laboratory documentation, including laboratory notebooks, chemical inventory, and data management.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Strong technical problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and present experimental data effectively.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Experience with analytical instrumentation such as:
  • Plate readers
  • Densitometers
  • Thermocyclers
  • Capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF)
  • UV/Vis spectrophotometers
  • HPLC/UPLC systems
• Experience supporting laboratory operations.
• Previous experience in an industry research environment.
• Experience conducting laboratory-scale process characterization studies.
• Experience troubleshooting experimental and equipment-related technical issues.
• Experience with method development and method transfer.
• Experience working in GMP and/or GLP environments.

The team is particularly interested in candidates with experience in a research-focused laboratory environment. Candidates with a strong scientific foundation and earlier-career experience who are capable of learning and developing within the role may be a strong fit.
