About the Role:
Location: United States (Remote / Hybrid)
XCentium is seeking a Principal Data & BI Consultant to lead enterprise data modernization, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives. This is a hands-on, client-facing leadership role requiring deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure data platforms, and BI, along with strong consulting and solution architecture skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise data platforms, lakehouses, warehouses, and BI solutions.
- Design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration frameworks, and dimensional data models.
- Develop data strategies, roadmaps, and modern analytics solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Architect Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and enterprise reporting solutions.
- Advise clients on data governance, performance optimization, security, and cost management.
- Lead workshops, solution design sessions, and client presentations.
- Mentor engineering teams and establish architectural standards and best practices.
- Support presales activities, including solution proposals, estimates, and technical demonstrations.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, analytics, or data architecture, preferably in consulting.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, and Spark.
- Strong experience with Azure Data Services, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, and Azure SQL.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, DAX, semantic modeling, and dimensional modeling.
- Strong skills in SQL, Python, PySpark, and ETL/ELT development.
- Experience with medallion architecture, data governance, data quality, and enterprise integration.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently with senior business and technology stakeholders.
Preferred: Microsoft Fabric (DP-600/DP-700) and Power BI (PL-300) certifications; experience with enterprise ERP, CRM, and cloud data integrations.
