Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.This role is for a senior backend engineer to support an AI Center of Excellence, working closely with data science teams to productionize machine learning models and AI capabilities. The position focuses on building scalable API services and integration layers that expose AI/ML models for real-time enterprise consumption, using Python or Go in a cloud-native environment.
Responsibilities:- Design and build RESTful APIs to expose machine learning models and AI services
- Develop backend services that integrate AI/ML models into enterprise systems
- Create well-defined API contracts that enable downstream business applications to consume model outputs
- Build integration layers connecting models, data services, and enterprise platforms
- Work closely with data scientists and ML engineers to productionize models
- Implement real-time model-serving APIs and manage service orchestration, error handling, and reliability patterns
Requirements:- 5 years of software engineering experience with a lead-level mindset
- Strong backend development experience in Python or Go (preferred over Java)
- Experience building production-grade REST APIs and microservices
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
- Proficiency with CI/CD and Git
- Experience with SQL (Postgres, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, BigQuery, Redis) databases
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and service integrations
