Data Analytics/Reporting SME This role works directly with USTRANSCOM stakeholders, financial management personnel, logistics experts, and software development teams supporting enterprise financial and transportation systems. Position Summary Client is seeking a Data Analytics/Reporting SME to support enterprise financial management and transportation modernization initiatives for USTRANSCOM. This position serves as the technical lead for data analytics, reporting, and data integration activities, providing actionable insights that improve financial transparency, logistics operations, and organizational decision-making.
The Data Analytics/Reporting SME leads the design and development of automated analytics solutions, supports enterprise data migration and governance initiatives, and collaborates with government personnel, functional users, and software development teams to ensure accurate, reliable, and meaningful reporting across complex business environments.
This role involves daily collaboration with government personnel, business stakeholders, ERP implementation teams, software engineers, and contractor teammates supporting mission-critical financial and transportation systems.
Location: Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Work will primarily take place in government workspaces with limited telework based on mission requirements.
Key Responsibilities Lead enterprise data analytics and reporting activities supporting financial management and transportation modernization initiatives.
Collaborate with government stakeholders and functional users to identify reporting requirements and business intelligence needs.
Design, develop, and maintain complex Alteryx Designer workflows for data preparation, transformation, blending, and analysis.
Develop automated reporting processes that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and actionable business insights.
Create dashboards, visualizations, and executive reports using Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence tools.
Support ERP implementation, system integration, and enterprise data migration activities.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and compliance through established data governance practices.
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities throughout the data lifecycle.
Analyze business processes to identify opportunities for workflow automation and continuous improvement.
Support metadata management, data cataloging, and enterprise data management initiatives.
Develop SQL queries and Python scripts to support reporting, automation, and advanced analytics.
Collaborate with software development teams to support system enhancements and data integration requirements.
Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to government leadership and executive stakeholders.
Maintain documentation supporting analytics solutions, reporting processes, and data governance standards.
Support Agile development activities and participate in cross-functional planning sessions as required.
Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or enterprise reporting.
Advanced experience with Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server.
Strong proficiency with SQL and Python.
Experience developing dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or similar visualization platforms.
Experience supporting ERP implementation, enterprise system integration, and data migration projects.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data cataloging principles.
Experience working with large-scale enterprise datasets and complex reporting environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to executive leadership.
Strong organizational, time-management, and task-prioritization skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, customer-focused environment.
Desired Qualifications Experience supporting Department of Defense financial or logistics systems.
