Overview

Lutron is seeking a Lead Data Engineer in Coopersburg, PA or Philadelphia, PA to help build and scale a modern, cloud-native data and AI platform powering analytics, real-time intelligence, and next-generation products. In this role, you will shape the architecture and direction of our enterprise data ecosystem while applying your expertise in distributed systems, data platforms, and AI enablement.

You will lead scalable data solutions, drive modern engineering practices, and mentor engineers across teams. Apply your experience in streaming pipelines, cloud platforms, and data modeling to deliver high-impact systems powering intelligent products and business insights.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the development of Lutron's cloud-based data ecosystem.
  • Mentor data engineers, software engineers, and data scientists.
  • Drive best practices in data engineering, governance, security, and scalability across teams.
  • Streamline data access and champion data literacy across the company.
  • Process, clean, and validate the integrity of large-scale datasets.
  • Architect cloud-based solutions leveraging AWS and Microsoft platforms.
  • Model data for the business, enabling accurate analytics, KPIs, and decision-making across functional areas.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure to host, manage, and automate machine learning models and advanced analytics.
  • Support AI/ML workflows by developing scalable pipelines for model training, deployment, monitoring, and versioning.
  • Integrate AI-driven tools such as recommendation engines, natural language processing, and predictive analytics into enterprise systems.
  • Optimize data pipelines for large-scale feature engineering, experiment tracking, and real-time inference.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to productionize AI models and agents, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Ensure performance and data quality through SQL programming and optimization.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide automated analytics, dashboards, and data visualizations to empower business decisions.

Tools & Technologies

In this role, you will work with:
  • Cloud platforms: AWS (S3, Glue, EKS, Lambda, SageMaker, Redshift, Athena, Bedrock, Agentcore)
  • Databases: SQL and NoSQL
  • Visualization: Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight
  • Programming & analytics: Python (Pandas, NumPy, PySpark)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned
  • 8+ years of experience in a related field
  • Proven expertise in modern data modeling, real-time and batch data processing, and cloud-based architectures
