Description: Our client is currently seeking a Junior Java Developer

We are looking for junior full-stack engineers to join the Personal Advisor Services (PAS) Enrollment team. You'll work alongside a tech lead and senior engineers to build user-facing features, microservices, and event-driven systems that support our client enrollment experience. This is an ideal role for early-career developers who have experience with at least one modern technology (Angular, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or AWS) and want to grow into a full-stack engineer.

What You'll Do
  • Develop clean, maintainable, and well-tested code across the stack (UI, microservices, event-driven components).
  • Participate in code reviews, share feedback, and learn best practices from senior engineers.
  • Break down product requirements into epics and user stories during Agile ceremonies.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders across PAS and Enterprise Advice.
  • Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of new features and enhancements.
  • Support production deployments, troubleshoot issues, and follow established change-management processes.
  • Learn and apply internal engineering standards, security practices, and architectural guidelines.
  • Participate in special projects and cross-team initiatives as needed.


Core Engineering Responsibilities
  • Translate technical specifications into working code for new features and enhancements.
  • Build and integrate applications, APIs, and databases, including third-party components.
  • Write unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Deploy code to development, test, and production environments on schedule.
  • Participate in design, code, and test inspections to identify issues early in the lifecycle.
  • Understand business workflows and how technical systems support client-facing processes.
  • Follow Agile development methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement.


Minimum Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of software development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of the following:
    • Angular
    • Java
    • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Strong foundation in programming fundamentals, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
