Summary

Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer

HTC Global Services is seeking an experienced Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise technology infrastructure.

This role will support a broad environment that includes Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, VMware virtualization, networking, cloud technologies, system security, backups, and disaster recovery. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining reliable and secure infrastructure, resolving complex technical issues, and recommending improvements that support business and operational needs.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on infrastructure engineer who can work independently across server, virtualization, network, and cloud environments while collaborating effectively with other IT teams and business stakeholders.

This is a remote position with occasional travel required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise systems and infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain physical and virtual servers, operating systems, hardware, and software.
  • Administer Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Manage Active Directory, including user accounts, groups, permissions, access controls, and related services.
  • Support VMware virtualization environments, including virtual machines, hosts, and associated infrastructure.
  • Support Azure and other cloud infrastructure technologies.
  • Troubleshoot complex system, server, network, application, and connectivity issues.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, security, and reliability.
  • Perform operating system, software, firmware, and security patching.
  • Support network infrastructure and troubleshoot common network protocol and connectivity issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve infrastructure policies, procedures, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Perform and monitor system backups and support disaster recovery and business-continuity planning.
  • Identify system vulnerabilities, operational risks, and opportunities for infrastructure improvement.
  • Collaborate with networking, security, application, cloud, service desk, and other IT teams to support integrated technology environments.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and infrastructure solutions.
  • Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, implementations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to IT teams and end users.
  • Manage multiple technical priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
  • Remain current on infrastructure, virtualization, cloud, security, and industry technology trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience working as a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or in a similar enterprise infrastructure role.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise computer systems, servers, operating systems, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Hands-on experience administering Windows Server environments.
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Strong Active Directory administration experience, including accounts, groups, permissions, and access management.
  • Hands-on experience supporting VMware virtualization technologies.
  • Experience supporting cloud computing environments.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience performing system upgrades, patching, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting system backups and disaster recovery processes.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies, environments, and business requirements.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Experience supporting hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure security, vulnerability remediation, and access-control practices.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, automation, or scripting tools.
  • Relevant technical certifications such as Microsoft Azure, VMware, CCNA, Microsoft Windows Server, or comparable infrastructure certifications.
