Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Data Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier SaaS clients in Lehi, UT.

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and building infrastructure to support various Finance, Accounting, and Business Model Strategy organizations. This includes architecting data models, integrating disparate data sources, and managing a data warehouse to enable users to uncover insights. The role will also be involved in the development of internal applications and processes to standardize the collection and representation of contractual data across Adobe. Additionally, the engineer will use AI and large language models (LLMs) to solve problems and increase efficiency/productivity in new ways.
Responsibilities:
  • Build, develop, test and deploy services and tools for Finance and Business Model Strategy organizations
  • Design and maintain data warehouses and architect data models to support financial reporting and product consumption
  • Develop and manage data pipelines for collecting, processing, and integrating data from multiple sources
  • Participate in all aspects of software development activities, including design, coding, code review, unit integration/testing, bug fixing and documentation
  • Build systems and processes to normalize contractual and product usage data and surface insights to internal and external customers
  • Rapidly prototype ideas and concepts, researching latest industry trends in areas like data analytics, LLMs, and AI
  • Collaborate and strategize with internal partners; solicit feedback to build data products that meet program objectives


Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred in Computer Science, Data Analytics or relevant field
  • 7+ years experience in a related role/field
  • 7+ years experience with SQL, Python, or equivalent
  • Proficiency with SQL Server, Databricks, storage services and other database
  • technologies
  • Experience with data pipeline orchestration, scheduling, and configuration
  • Knowledge of database design and architecture principles, with a drive for delivering well-documented data products with high throughput and low latency
  • Commitment to finding solutions to challenges and enjoy creative problem solving
  • Ability to solve problems collaboratively and build strong relationships
  • Experience delivering quality process and outcomes
  • Process orientation with strong attention to detail
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in Databricks
  • Experience with LLMs, especially employing AI in code development, data analysis, and document summarization
  • Familiarity with finance and accounting principles and core business performance metrics
  • Understanding of common SaaS contract terms, structures, and verbiage
  • Proven track record of taking independent action with internal customers to address their most salient problems and pressing needs
