The Engineer 3 role on the Commercial Voice Product Engineering team drives operational excellence and hands-on deployment for the commercial voice product suite. This position ensures operational readiness, reliability, security, and lifecycle support for BroadWorks infrastructure, Ribbon SBC, and UCaaS/CPaaS technologies across conferencing, messaging, collaboration, contact center, and API-driven integrations for SMB, mid-market, and enterprise customers.
The role emphasizes managing Linux environments, maintaining accurate fleet inventory, and enforcing security best practices. The position is production hands on execution forward with regards to configuration, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while supporting architecture alignment and planning for new services. Key responsibilities include certification, readiness testing, deployment, and sustaining support, with a strong focus on root cause analysis and minimizing customer impact.
Experience is expected in cloud technologies, VoIP/SIP, IP networking, automation, DevOps/CI-CD practices, and security, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure compliance, reliability, and scalability.
Primary responsibilities:
Align architecture with operational requirements for configuration, monitoring, testing, redundancy, and reliability.
Manage Linux system administration tasks, including patching, hardening, and performance tuning.
Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, and licenses for compliance and audits.
Own security posture for UC platforms and infrastructure, enforcing best practices and adhering to security compliance scoring for the organization.
Perform hands-on deployments in production, including upgrades, patches, and configuration changes under strict guidelines.
Collaborate with Product Engineering, QA, and Operations to define readiness criteria and support models for new services.
Maintain monitoring dashboards and alerting frameworks for production environments.
Execute Operational Readiness Testing (ORT) and ensure smooth product integration.
Develop and maintain Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for change management and maintenance.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for service impairments.
Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipeline improvements, and operational tooling.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
4+ years in telecommunications operations for large-scale carrier networks.
4+ years of Linux System Admin and inventory management experience.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2+ years experience with UC collaboration platforms (Webex, Teams).
2+ yrs Experience in unified communications infrastructure and systems analysis/design
Strong knowledge of Ribbon SBC (or similar) administration experience.
Expertise in VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, SRTP, SDP) and codecs (G711, G722, H264, Opus).
Experience with IP networking (QoS techniques, routing protocols, security)
Experience with UC Clients & platform (SDK, WebRTC, UCaaS)
Familiarity with the following protocols (DHCP, DNS, NTP, SNMP, HTTPS, POP3/IMAP, TLS)
Familiar with Security Protocols (TLS, SSL, IPsec, VPN, RSA, Kerberos, SAML, OAuth)
Experience developing and operationalizing CI/CD environments.
Proficiency in documenting Technical Design documents/artifacts
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work and deliver under the pressure of deadlines and commitments to the customer.
Demonstrates professionalism in all areas of work.
Proficient at time management and meeting deadlines and flexible with changing priorities.
