Senior Program Leader

Healthcare Payer Implementations

Company Overview

Emids is a leading provider of technology solutions and services tailored for the healthcare industry. We specialize in delivering innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and improve patient outcomes across healthcare payer and provider organizations.

Summary of the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Program Leader to lead complex healthcare payer platform implementations and migrations. This role combines hands-on delivery leadership with executive stakeholder management, bringing structure, accountability and predictable execution to engagements with competing priorities and significant dependencies.

The Senior Program Leader will take direct responsibility for a member enrollment migration and provide oversight of a related benefits platform implementation managed by a separate project manager. Success requires the ability to stabilize challenged delivery, secure customer resource and decision commitments, align internal stakeholders, and enforce realistic plans supported by available capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of a complex member enrollment platform migration, including planning, execution, testing coordination, go-live readiness and transition to operations.

Establish and maintain an integrated delivery plan with clear milestones, dependencies, resource requirements and accountable owners.

Assess delivery health, establish achievable recovery plans, and drive corrective actions through to completion.

Build trusted relationships with customer executives, program sponsors, account leadership and implementation teams.

Lead steering committee and delivery governance forums, presenting clear status, delivery forecasts, risks, decisions required and recommended actions.

Secure explicit customer commitments for resources, priorities and decisions. Escalate unresolved constraints with clear delivery impacts, options and accountable owners.

Establish clear decision rights and escalation paths across customer, account management, customer support, product and delivery stakeholders.

Secure leadership backing for agreed priorities and delivery controls, and resolve conflicting commitments before they disrupt execution.

Validate scope, capacity, schedule and financial impacts before commitments are made to the customer.

Manage scope, schedule, budget and quality, ensuring changes and additional commitments receive appropriate assessment and approval.

Provide program-level oversight and guidance to the project manager responsible for the related benefits platform implementation.

Secure sufficient access to product and implementation specialists, protecting capacity for planning, decision-making and delivery.

Plan and facilitate customer workshops with clear objectives, required participants, decisions and measurable outcomes.

Streamline meetings, reporting and governance to protect execution time while maintaining transparency and accountability.

Required Qualifications Must-Have

Extensive experience leading complex technology implementations and migrations in healthcare payer environments.

Strong understanding of payer operations, particularly member enrollment, eligibility and benefits administration.

Proven success recovering challenged projects by resolving underlying resource, priority and decision constraints.

Experience engaging executive sponsors and leading steering committees, escalations and cross-organizational decision-making.

Exceptional planning and organizational skills, including management of constrained specialist capacity and interdependent workstreams.

Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, challenge unachievable commitments constructively, and secure explicit agreement on priorities and accountability.

Experience resolving conflicting direction across account, support, product and delivery teams while maintaining effective customer relationships.

Experience managing scope, budgets, change control and delivery commitments in a client-facing services environment.

Proficiency with project management tools and Agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches.

Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgment and the ability to lead effectively through sustained delivery pressure.

Nice-to-Have

Experience with NASCO Members Edge or BeneFact, or other core payer platform implementations.

Experience coordinating data migration, system integrations, testing and operational readiness for payer platform transitions.

Familiarity with SAFe and Program Increment planning.

Knowledge of applicable healthcare privacy, security and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.

PMP, PgMP, SAFe or equivalent project/program management certification.

Experience improving implementation efficiency through automation and AI-assisted delivery practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive salary based on experience.

Comprehensive health benefits.

Retirement savings plan with employer matching.

Professional development and training opportunities.

Flexible work hours and remote work options, subject to customer and delivery requirements.

Additional Information

This is a dedicated, full-time client delivery assignment. New Jersey is the preferred location; candidates elsewhere in the United States who can work Eastern Time hours and meet onsite requirements may also be considered. Travel to customer locations in New Jersey is expected approximately monthly, with the schedule determined by delivery needs.

We are looking to fill 1 position. The role will work closely with a separate project manager responsible for the related benefits platform implementation.
