Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Production Planning (PP) and Sales & Distribution (SD), along with good working knowledge of Finance & Controlling (FI/CO), to support a large-scale, international SAP S/4HANA transformation program.

This is a hands-on functional role that serves as a key bridge between business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical/development teams. The successful candidate will bring strong end-to-end business process knowledge, SAP ECC and S/4HANA experience, and the ability to translate business requirements into effective SAP solutions.

A key focus of the role will be supporting production planning, sales and distribution, finance and controlling integration, master data, functional design, testing, and deployment activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate working sessions with Production, Planning, Sales, Distribution, Finance, and Controlling teams to review business requirements, master data, and process dependencies.
  • Coordinate the review and update of routings, operations, work centers, and other production master data to ensure accuracy and alignment with manufacturing and planning requirements.
  • Support the review and maintenance of relevant SD master data and business processes, ensuring alignment with end-to-end sales and distribution requirements.
  • Work with Finance and Controlling stakeholders to understand and validate FI/CO integration requirements, particularly those related to manufacturing, sales, inventory, costing, and financial postings.
  • Support cross-functional processes and integration points across PP, SD, MM, and FI/CO, including production costing, inventory movements, sales billing, revenue/account determination, and financial impacts of business transactions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams to identify master data gaps, process issues, and data discrepancies, and drive them through resolution.
  • Perform and support master data uploads and mass data maintenance using appropriate tools such as LSMW and Winshuttle, where applicable.
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy, completeness, and consistency to support effective production planning, scheduling, sales execution, costing, and financial reporting.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications and requirements for technical/development teams.
  • Work closely with developers and technical teams to clarify requirements, review proposed solutions, and support implementation.
  • Perform functional testing, integration testing, and data validation within the SAP S/4HANA environment, including validation of cross-functional PP/SD/FI/CO processes.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test preparation, execution, defect analysis, resolution, and retesting.
  • Prepare and maintain functional documentation, process documentation, test evidence, and end-user training materials.
  • Support business users through training, knowledge transfer, and issue resolution.
  • Participate in cutover, deployment, go-live, and post-go-live support activities as required.
  • Work collaboratively across global teams and functions to ensure deliverables are completed according to project timelines and quality standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong functional experience with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, with particular expertise in Production Planning (PP) and Sales & Distribution (SD).
  • Good functional experience and working knowledge of SAP Finance & Controlling (FI/CO) and its integration with PP, SD, and other logistics modules.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes across manufacturing, production planning, sales, distribution, finance, and controlling.
  • Hands-on experience with PP master data, including materials, BOMs, routings, operations, work centers, and production-related master data.
  • Good understanding of SD master data and order-to-cash processes, including sales orders, deliveries, billing, and associated financial postings.
  • Understanding of key FI/CO processes, including General Ledger, cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, product costing, account determination, and financial integration with logistics processes.
  • Experience supporting product costing and manufacturing-related controlling processes is highly desirable.
  • Experience with master data migration, mass maintenance, data validation, and data quality activities.
  • Experience using data upload/migration tools such as LSMW, Winshuttle, or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into clear, actionable functional specifications for technical teams.
  • Experience with functional testing, integration testing, data validation, UAT, defect management, and end-user training.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and drive issues through resolution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across business, functional, and technical teams.
  • Experience working within large-scale, complex, international SAP transformation programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively in a fast-paced environment with demanding timelines and evolving requirements.
  • High degree of ownership, accountability, resilience, and attention to detail.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a senior, hands-on SAP functional professional with strong PP and SD expertise and solid FI/CO experience who can connect end-to-end business processes with SAP S/4HANA functionality, master data, and technical solutions.

The ideal candidate understands the cross-functional integration between manufacturing, sales, logistics, costing, and finance and can assess the downstream financial and controlling impacts of PP and SD transactions.

The candidate should be proactive, analytical, delivery-focused, and comfortable working directly with business and technical stakeholders. They should be capable of independently driving requirements and data-related activities from analysis through design, testing, deployment, and business adoption.

The successful candidate will thrive in a complex international transformation environment and consistently deliver high-quality results while managing tight timelines and competing priorities.
