Job Summary

o support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a NPI Engineering Manager located in Columbia, SC.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the NPI Engineering Manager will be responsible for new product implementation and ensuring that it will satisfy Flex customers. Also prepares the cost estimates and the budget for the NPI projects.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Facilitate the product launching and make it known to the customers.
  • Keep updates with production of new products from project planning to production.
  • Evaluate product reviews given by customers.
  • Ensure that product schedules are followed during its development.
  • Work closely with other departments such as Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Planning and others.
  • Work with other teams who are involved in product development.
  • Negotiate with manufacturers and suppliers to meet company and customer expectations.
  • Make project cost estimates including the resources, capital and other requirements to make the project successful.
  • Conduct meetings with suppliers to improve the new products.
  • Offer the best solution that will cater the needs of the customer while making sure that the company will be productive and can save a lot in the process.
  • Coordinate with customers regarding new product specifications and features.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of NPI Product Engineering experience, including broad based management and supervision.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret dimensions, tolerances, schematics, blueprint and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrates expert-level functional, technical, people, and process management skills, with strong internal and external customer relationship capabilities and a clear understanding of the strategic impact of the function across sites.
  • Effectively reads, analyzes, and interprets highly complex information; writes original and innovative speeches or articles; and delivers persuasive presentations on complex or controversial topics to senior leadership, public audiences, and boards of directors.
  • Applies advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to real-world situations, defines complex problems, collects and analyzes data, establishes facts, and draws valid, defensible conclusions.
  • Interprets a wide range of complex technical instructions (including mathematical and diagrammatic formats), manages multiple abstract and concrete variables simultaneously, and responds effectively and professionally to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
