Mainframe Developer (W2)

Job Title: Mainframe Developer- W2 Only

Location: Westlake, TX. Open to relocation but local candidates given first priority.

Schedule:  Hybrid onsite every other week (5 days per week).

Desired Locations: (MA, UT, BOS, NH, RI, NC, TX, NJ, KY)

Must be doing actual hands-on development with the mainframe technologies (not interested in project managers, analysts, or prod support only candidates)

The Role:

• This Senior Mainframe Engineer role is focused on developing, enhancing, and supporting high-volume applications that handle critical money movement transactions.
• The position requires 7–10 years of experience building and maintaining enterprise software using COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, JCL, SQL, FileAid, Endevor, IBM Utilities, debuggers, schedulers, and Control-M.
• Responsibilities include hands-on development, analyzing and resolving complex production issues, designing and implementing enhancements, supporting software releases, performing unit, functional, and regression testing, and ensuring secure, reliable application performance in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• The ideal candidate is a hands-on mainframe developer with strong problem-solving, documentation, and production support skills who is actively coding rather than managing projects or performing only operational support.
• Experience with COBOL stored procedures is a plus, while exposure to Java, REST APIs, service-based architectures, or AWS in hybrid mainframe and cloud environments is beneficial but not required.
• This role centers on maintaining and modernizing mission-critical financial transaction systems while contributing to new feature development and long-term platform stability.
