PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
• The Integration Specialist - Web Content is responsible for executing and scaling content within an established content model, design system, and governance framework.
• This role works closely with Marketing and Communications, UX strategy, OIT, and business stakeholders to populate, update, an maintain web content across a multi-site environment, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and alignment with institutional standards.
• This position focuses on content execution at scale, not content strategy or architecture design.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Develops and scales content using predefined templates, components, and content models
• Translates stakeholder-provided information into clear, concise, and structured web content aligned to brand and UX standards
• Works in close coordination with UX strategists to ensure content aligns with approved page structures, user flows, and design intent
• Partners with OIT to ensure content is implemented correctly within technical constraints, CMS functionality, and system integrations
• Ensures all content meets WCAG 2.1 AA / 2.2 AA accessibility standards, including heading structure, link clarity, and alternative text
• Applies established taxonomy, tagging, and metadata standards to support search and content discoverability
• Partners with Marketing/Communications to ensure content aligns with approved messaging and campaigns
• Supports large-scale content efforts, including site updates, migrations, and content clean-up initiatives
• Reviews and edits content for clarity, consistency, and adherence to content standards
• Identifies gaps, inconsistencies, or risks in content and escalates appropriately, does not redefine structure independently
• Works within defined governance workflows and publishing processes, including approvals and version control
• Maintains content accuracy through ongoing updates and periodic reviews
• Supports training and guidance for distributed content contributors as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, English, or related field… or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of experience in web content publishing, digital content, or CMS-driven environments
• Experience working within a CMS (e.g., WordPress or similar) using structured templates and components
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, user-focused content
• Experience applying accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.1 AA / 2.2 AA) in content creation
• Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, including metadata, headings, and internal linking
• Familiarity with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and/or AIO (AI Optimization) as it relates to improving visibility within AI search engines, Large Language Model (LLM) training datasets, and AI-powered conversational answer engines.
• Ability to follow and apply established content standards, taxonomy, and governance models
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including UX, Marketing, and IT teams, in a structured delivery environment
• Basic experience with HTML and CSS
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume content updates across multiple sites
• Experience working with tools such as Figma and Slickplan to interpret page structures, workflows, and content organization
• Experience working in higher education or similarly complex, decentralized organizations preferred
