Job Description:

This position is for a Software Designer/Developer. The candidate will work as part of a DevOps team to primarily design, develop and test applications for internal software systems. Candidate would work with the customer s Industry leading automation experts and technology Subject Matter Experts for the 5G core network to automate deployment and upgrades of 5G Core Network Functions. Work involves working with state-of-the-art technology in containerized applications, Azure, CI/CD, workflow engines and software. These systems automate the process of capturing customer s mobility services design, and network design to aid in the planning, design, deployment, configuration, and management of the network functions that are part of each service definition.

We are looking for people who will work well within a team and have capabilities and experience to elevate the team. Excellent written & verbal communication, teamwork and team building skills are essential. As part of the testing function, she/he will work to automate the testing function.

The day-to-day duties would include:

1. Participate in and lead design discussions/scrum meetings.
2. Document requirements and create designs (for descriptions provided by product owners) and review with the rest of the teams.
3. Develop using MERN stack on both front end and back-end.
4. Develop workflows based on requirements
5. Test code for defects before submitting the code.
6. Work with the test team to troubleshoot defects that are identified during testing.
7. Build application and data deployment strategies for minimizing human involvement. Participate in deployment decisions.

Critical skills needed

1. Thorough understanding of the software development principles is essential.
2. 4+ years of experience in developing web applications using MERN stack.
3. 4+ years of experience in Functional Programming in Java Script (promises, await, async, etc.)
4. 4+ years of experience in backend node JS (node 12+)
5. 4+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs using Node.js/Express.
6. Experience with API documentation and testing tools (e.g., Swagger, Postman).
7. Strong understanding of API security (authentication, authorization, rate limiting, etc.).
8. Experience integrating APIs with databases (MongoDB) and workflow engines.
9. 2+ years of experience with React (latest version 18+) (redux).
10. 2+ years of experience in test automation using Jest.
11. 2+ years of experience in MongoDB
12. 2+ years of experience in Workflow Engines (e.g., Camunda, Pronghorn, etc.)
13. 2+ years of experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
14. Must have worked with Git, GitHub, Jira, and other development management environments all their developer career.
15. Linux experience is essential.
16. Experience with Networking and Security
17. Excellent troubleshooting and code reading skills are essential.
18. High proficiency in generating high-quality design and test documentation using MS Office tools.

Highly desired skills needed (in priority order):

1. Database design experience, relational or otherwise is highly desired.
2. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker , Postman , Swagger etc.
3. Some Experience with Openstack/VMware (Network Function Virtualization)
4. A basic understanding of networking and network routing concepts is essential.
5. Experience with Mobility networks is a plus
6. Experience building distributed software systems is desired.
