We are seeking a SharePoint Solutions Engineer to design, implement, and govern secure Microsoft 365 collaboration environments that support matter-centric workflows in a highly regulated enterprise setting. This role partners closely with Legal Operations, Information Security, Records, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant, and user-friendly collaboration solutions.
You will be responsible for architecting SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams environments that improve knowledge management, automate workflows, enforce confidentiality controls, and support internal and external collaboration.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and enforce SharePoint Online architecture standards, including site models, hub structures, metadata, and navigation.
- Design and maintain SharePoint and Microsoft Teams templates with automated provisioning, permissions, lifecycle controls, and external sharing policies.
- Integrate SharePoint with enterprise systems (e.g., document management, matter intake, conflicts, billing) and automate workflows using Power Automate and Power Apps.
- Establish governance and security controls covering access management, ethical walls, restricted workspaces, quotas, and content lifecycle.
- Design and maintain enterprise metadata frameworks to support labeling, retention, compliance, and search.
- Implement compliance policies using Microsoft Purview, including sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, and eDiscovery.
- Enhance enterprise search across SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, document management platforms, and Microsoft Search.
- Develop intake forms and governance workflows using Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Prepare collaboration environments for Microsoft Copilot and AI-driven automation aligned with governance standards.
- Provide operational support, including troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance, and participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Contribute to platform roadmaps, evaluate new Microsoft 365 features, mentor junior staff, and support risk and compliance initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years administering and delivering Microsoft 365 solutions in mid-to-large enterprise environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and/or Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Deep expertise in SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams administration.
- Hands-on experience with SPFx, Power Automate, Power Apps, and modern SharePoint development; SharePoint On-Premises experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of information architecture, content types, taxonomies, navigation models, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience designing Microsoft Search solutions and supporting persona-based content discovery.
- Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Purview, DLP, retention, and governance in regulated environments.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, PnP, and REST APIs.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex Microsoft 365 issues.
- Experience estimating work, planning sprints, and operating within Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
