Summary
HIRE Technology is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Strategic Programs for a remote contract opportunity supporting complex, enterprise-level business and technology initiatives.
This role requires a senior delivery leader who can operate beyond traditional project tracking. The selected candidate will partner with senior business and technology stakeholders, translate strategy into executable plans, create alignment across cross-functional teams, and drive measurable business outcomes in a highly matrixed environment.
The ideal candidate has experience leading ERP and/or enterprise operational systems implementations or deployments, can create structure in ambiguous situations, and is comfortable facilitating decisions with senior leadership, vendors, and project teams. Success in this role requires strong executive communication, disciplined delivery leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to influence across teams without relying on formal authority.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm CST
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex, enterprise-level strategic initiatives from planning through execution and delivery.
- Translate business objectives into actionable project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and success measures.
- Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders to drive alignment, resolve issues, and support timely decision-making.
- Manage cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment.
- Provide clear executive-level communication on program status, risks, tradeoffs, recommendations, and outcomes.
- Create structure and momentum in ambiguous or changing business conditions while maintaining focus on measurable results.
Requirements:
- Active Project Management Professional — PMP certification
- 12+ years of project/program management experience leading complex, cross-functional business and technology initiatives
- Prior experience leading ERP and/or enterprise operational systems implementation, deployment, or rollout projects
- Experience managing initiatives involving multiple business functions, technology teams, external vendors, and senior stakeholders
- Proven ability to build and manage integrated project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and resource needs
- Experience working directly with executive sponsors, senior leaders, or steering committees to support decision-making and resolve delivery challenges
- Ability to lead through influence in a highly matrixed environment
- Demonstrated success managing ambiguity, competing priorities, organizational complexity, and changing business conditions
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present risks, recommendations, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to senior stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting complex, multi-location, operationally intensive business environments
- Experience with enterprise business transformation initiatives
- Experience with business process redesign, operational improvement, or continuous improvement efforts
- Experience leading organizational change related to system implementation or process transformation
- Experience managing third-party vendors, implementation partners, or external delivery teams
- Experience mentoring or guiding project managers, workstream leads, or project team members
- Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced degree
- ITIL Foundation or higher
- Prosci, CCMP, or other change management certification
