Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Business Analyst to support both operational and technical projects across the organization — helping teams clarify business needs, improve processes, and ensure smooth project delivery. This is a 4-month contract engagement based in Anchorage, AK, requiring three days per week on-site, with no possibility of extension.
In this role, you will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex requirements into clear documentation and actionable plans. Day-to-day activities will involve facilitating conversations with business units, mapping current-state processes, and coordinating project milestones to keep work on track during a period of organizational transition. You will collaborate closely with the Operations and IT teams and report to project and program leadership.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can quickly build relationships at all levels of the organization, document requirements with precision, and independently manage their workload in a fast-moving environment. A passion for process improvement and a comfort with ambiguity will be key to success in this
engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Collaborate with business units to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for operational and system-related initiatives.
• Map current-state processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop clear documentation including business requirements documents, user stories, process maps, and functional specifications.
• Support project delivery through coordination, communication, and tracking progress against milestones.
• Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of project outcomes against business objectives.
• Prepare reports, status updates, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Provide general analytical and administrative support to the Operations and IT teams as needed.
Required Experience / Skills
• Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical or project coordination role.
• Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working across both operational and system-focused projects.
• Solid understanding of business process analysis and improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or business analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Visio, Miro, Confluence, Jira).
• Must be authorized to work in the US as a citizen, , or -EAD holder.
Nice-to-Haves
• Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
• Experience supporting change management or process improvement initiatives.
• Previous experience in a corporate, public sector, or service-oriented organization.
• Personal interest in technology, IT services, or digital transformation.
Education
No specific educational requirement is stated for this role. A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field is a plus, but equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Pay & Benefits Summary
• Hourly pay rate: $45–$50 per hour (W2 or Corp-to-Corp depending on arrangement).
• 4-month contract engagement — no extensions anticipated.
