Digital Press Field Service Engineer

Pay Rate: $27+ per hour based on experience

Location: Chicago Metro Area (South, North, or West Suburbs - not Chicago proper)

Employment Type: Full-Time Temporary | Travel: Up to 75%

Are you a skilled Field Service Engineer with experience troubleshooting digital printing equipment? Join a team where your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer support experience will help keep advanced digital press systems operating at peak performance.

We are seeking a Digital Press Field Service Engineer to provide expert technical service, equipment support, and customer training. This full-time temporary opportunity involves installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing digital press systems while partnering with customers to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Install, commission, and support advanced digital press equipment at customer locations.

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, software, and process-related equipment issues.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, upgrades, calibrations, and system adjustments.

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to maintain equipment uptime.

  • Conduct customer onboarding, startup support, and operator training.

  • Train production teams on digital press operation, workflow processes, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, quality control, and color management.

  • Mentor operators during production ramp-up and provide technical guidance.

  • Utilize remote diagnostic tools and technology to identify issues and improve service efficiency.

  • Maintain service documentation, technical reports, and customer records.


Requirements:


  • Technical diploma or degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of field service engineering, equipment repair, or technical support experience.

  • Experience troubleshooting digital printing, manufacturing, or automated production equipment is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical circuits and ability to use a multimeter for diagnostics.

  • Mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting experience.

  • Experience providing customer training or technical instruction.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 75%.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience servicing digital press equipment or production printing technology.

  • Familiarity with RIP/DFE workflow software platforms.

  • Lean or Six Sigma experience.

  • Multilingual skills are a plus.
