Summary

Imagine what you can do here. Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their lives best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn't have imagined, and now, can't imagine living without. It's the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do.

Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Involved in system development of wireless products with a focus on multi-radios co-existence design. Define co-existence performance requirements and test methodology to ensure Apple product meets those requirements. Work with cross-functional teams, vendors, contract manufacturers, and technology suppliers. Provide design guidelines, review PCB and flex layouts, debug and resolving multi-radio coexistence issues. Support manufacturing test and debug failure units and perform large sample failure analysis. Participate in developing system mitigation that optimizes product performance. Analyze root cause of parametric test failures and sub-optimal test results. Use spectrum analyzers, base station emulators, and network analyzers to measure and analyze radio frequency signals in mobile devices. Pinpoint actual causes of test failures or sub-optimal test results in an efficient manner, and foresee performance issues based on analysis of test results. Provide integration recommendations towards optimizing the overall radio system performance quality of the wireless device. 15% International travel required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,031 - $225,300/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field.

Experience and/or education must include:

Full-cycle physical design and layout of sub-micron RFICs to identify potential interactions among RF components and drive system-level design improvements.

Performing failure analyses to identify and resolve complex system-level hardware issues during development. Conducting hands-on rework (soldering, tuning, reassembly) to evaluate mockups and close performance gaps.

Architecture of microwave signal chains, link budget analysis, and electromagnetic simulation of phased array antennas.

Strong fundamental understanding of RFIC/RF system design principles.

Communicating Circuit Design & Signal Integrity Design, validation of analog/mixed-signal blocks (ADC/DAC), characterization of Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) and quantization noise.

Configuring RF test equipment (callboxes, signal generators, signal analyzers) to conduct measurements and debug hardware issues.

Collaborating with vendors to improve RF grounding, mitigate EMI, and drive mass production solutions.

Experience on at least one radio of Cellular, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Thread, NFC, and UWB.
