We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize cloud-based data management solutions supporting enterprise-scale analytics and reporting. This role focuses on building secure, scalable, and high-performing data platforms using modern cloud architectures, including decentralized data models such as Data Mesh.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AWS, Snowflake, Informatica (IICS), SQL, and Python, with strong experience designing end-to-end data pipelines, implementing data governance, and working with highly sensitive healthcare data in compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop cloud-based data management systems to support enterprise analytics and reporting needs.

Architect and implement data pipelines within decentralized data architectures, including Data Mesh.

Ensure data solutions comply with established data security, governance, and privacy policies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design highly scalable, highly available, and high-performance cloud data solutions.

Evaluate and recommend new cloud products and services to improve data curation, storage, and processing efficiency.

Monitor cloud data solution performance and implement optimization strategies.

Implement and maintain data management and data governance processes in cloud environments.

Lead design sessions, facilitate technical decisions, and provide guidance on data layer and ETL design.

Develop and review ETL requirements, ensuring alignment with enterprise data architecture standards.

Conduct thorough analysis and documentation of cloud data engineering strategies and designs.

Establish regular system performance assessment processes and actionable improvement plans.

Ensure timely delivery of solutions that meet business requirements and quality expectations.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in cloud data architecture, data warehousing, data modeling, ETL, and enterprise information systems.

Strong implementation experience with enterprise data warehouse and data architecture principles, including decentralized data architectures (Data Mesh).

3-5 years of experience developing cloud-based data solutions on AWS.

5+ years of experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.

Hands-on experience creating and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines.

3-5 years of experience with Informatica (IICS) ETL, Snowflake, and Airflow (orchestration).

Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience solving complex data integration use cases.

Proficiency with Unix, Linux, and shell scripting.

Experience working with large, multi-terabyte enterprise data platforms in the cloud.

Solid understanding of system administration, database administration, storage architectures, backup and recovery, and networking.

Experience working with highly sensitive healthcare data and knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy controls.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certification or Cloud Data Engineer certification.

Snowflake certification.

Experience with Cognos and/or Tableau reporting tools.

Advanced experience with Informatica (IICS) and Airflow orchestration.
