As a Principal Electrical Product Engineer you will work on projects to bolster plant safety and reliability by providing the electrical, instrumentation and control (I&C), and mechanical products and services that our customers require. You will be within the Electrical Products Group and support design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of high-quality electrical products.
You will report to the Manager, Product Engineering and be located at our New Stanton, PA facility. This is a hybrid role based in New Stanton, PA. We will not offer relocation assistance for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation and review of drawings, specifications, and purchase requisitions for various Electrical Products
Development and/or maintenance of Material Master Data and Parts Baselines in SAP
Determination of critical equipment characteristics to support equipment qualification and commercial grade dedication
Assist in the development of equipment qualification test procedures, support during testing, evaluate test results and review final reports
Preparation of Commercial Dedication Instructions
Development of Engineered solutions to address obsolescence issues for various electrical products
Provide engineering support to customers, suppliers, manufacturing, and shop operations for a variety of products
Become Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the field in which it is assigned concerning specific electrical products and components
Engage and problem solve with WEC customers and vendors on all key issues related to the products that we provide
Problem solves issues related to non-conforming material
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is required.
- 10+ years of engineering experience is required.
- General knowledge of electrical distribution systems and equipment, including Low/Medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motors, motor-generator sets, and motor control centers, is required.
- Ability to mentor lower-level engineers.
- Ability to design components, parts and full assemblies with the use of design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.
- Previous experience in the nuclear industry, specifically in nuclear power plant safety / non-safety systems, is desired.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
